STRATEGIC PLANNING & CONSULTING

Our strategic planning and consulting services at Band Gap are designed around the idea of working closely with organizations as they learn how to augment their operations, new or existing, with the latest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and research software engineering. We embed “with the team” as deeply as we can to find, understand, and solve the most critical challenges faced by the effort.

We meticulously scope each project and always execute towards a goal; we never work simply as “retained” or “open” consultants.

If you see an area below where you believe that Band Gap could support you, or if you have something else in mind, feel free to contact us.

Strategic Planning

We support customers who are creating or refining strategic plans for using artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, or research software engineering in their operations.

Consulting and Third-Party Reviews

We regularly support colleagues and customers as a neutral third-party reviewer or to provided consulting on a longer timescale. We offer pro bono support for small third-party reviews or to 501(c)(3) non-profits on a case-by-case basis.

Staff Augmentation

Finding the right staff is challenging and we know how hard it can be to hire and retain the best. We offer staff augmentation support to groups that need to work with a single partner to hire multiple scientists or engineers for dedicated projects. We also support organizations that need to hire unique candidates but must work with a contracting company to do so.

Training

We develop training as a service for customers who need specialized or highly technical content. We are also developing training videos and other content that we will share through public platforms, and some of this training is sponsored.

Tutoring and Mentoring

We believe that scientists and engineers have a responsibility to teach. Our staff members provide hourly tutoring services, and mentor interns and graduate students. We are also happy to act as guest lectures and, when it makes sense, to teach courses at universities.
