We were excited to have our own CEO, Jay Jay Billings , present alongside our colleagues from AI Prime at the Loudoun 1 Million Cups meeting on January 28th, 2026. The collaborative presentation, titled “AI Automation for Small Business”, focused on how modern artificial intelligence tools can help local organizations streamline their operations and reclaim valuable time.

During the talk, Band Gap and AI Prime highlighted the hidden costs of manual work that drain team resources, such as repetitive data entry and document processing. The presentation also demystified exactly what artificial intelligence is for the attendees. We explored the mechanics of Large-Language Models (LLMs) and explained how emerging “AI Agents” can delegate work to dramatically improve the accuracy and utility of responses.

A major highlight of our segment was a live demonstration on “vibe coding”. As Jay Jay joked on LinkedIn afterward, a crucial part of vibe coding and burning through tokens to get the app’s vibe just right is having the proper tunes—we are always taking playlist recommendations!

Following the presentation, we opened the floor for a Q&A panel. This led to a fantastic discussion about the realities of enterprise AI integration. We emphasized a core Band Gap philosophy: while generative AI is an incredible tool for acceleration, businesses ultimately still need to work side-by-side with experienced scientists and engineers to build robust products and successfully deliver on serious technical projects.

Reflecting on the event, Jay Jay shared:

“We had a great time joining our friends and colleagues at 1 Million Cups today to present on AI for small business. It is such a great group and it is a pleasure to be part of Loudoun County’s small business community. Thanks to our partners at AIPrime for developing and presenting the talk with us.”
